Consider the Lilies
On worry, the price of sparrows, and why Jesus sends anxious people outside to look at flowers.

Jesus does not tell anxious people to try harder. He tells them to go outside. Look at the birds. Look at the wildflowers in the field, which do not spin or sew, and are dressed better than Solomon.
It is not a lecture. It is an invitation to notice that we are held in a larger care than our own planning.
Today's trouble
Each day has enough trouble of its own, he says, which is not quite a promise that there will be no trouble. It is a promise that we will not have to carry tomorrow's today.
This week, take ten minutes outside without your phone. Consider the lilies. Then come back and tell us what you saw.
