A detached accessory dwelling for a mother moving across the country to be near her grandchildren. Close enough to walk over for dinner, separate enough to close the door.
What we built
- Permit drawings, site plan, and the city's ADU review, handled start to finish
- Slab foundation with a separate water, sewer, and electrical connection
- Cedar shingle siding, a standing-seam metal roof, and a full-glass entry
- One bedroom, a kitchenette, and a step-free bathroom
How it went
Permits took seven weeks; building took sixteen. We protected the old maple at the back of the lot with a root-zone fence the whole way through.
