About the practice

Hi, I’m Nora. Pull up a chair.

I started Tend because most people I meet aren’t in crisis — they’re tired, stretched thin, and quietly wondering whether it’s supposed to feel this hard. Therapy here is a conversation first: practical, a little warm, and honest when honesty helps.

I’ve spent twelve years working with adults and couples in community clinics and private practice. You won’t get homework you didn’t ask for or jargon you have to decode. You will get someone who remembers what you said last week.

What’s the weather like, inside?

Everyone arrives with their own forecast. These are the conditions I work with most — find the line that sounds like you.

  • Fog

“I can't switch my brain off.”

    Anxiety & overthinking

Worry loops, 3am what-ifs, the body braced for something that never arrives. We slow the spiral down and build a few tools that actually hold up on a bad day.

    Individual · weekly

  • Overcast

“I'm functioning, but I don't feel like myself.”

    Low mood & burnout

Getting through the days on autopilot, joy on mute. We look at what's draining you, what's been lost along the way, and what small things bring colour back.

    Individual · weekly

  • Storms

“We keep having the same fight.”

    Couples & relationships

For partners who love each other and keep ending up in the same argument. We find the pattern underneath it and practise a different way through.

    Couples · 80 minutes

  • High winds

    “Everything is changing at once.”

    Life transitions

A move, a breakup, a new baby, a diagnosis, a parent getting older. Space to steady yourself while the ground shifts, and to decide who you want to be on the other side.

    Individual · weekly or fortnightly

  • Rain

“I'm still carrying something from a long time ago.”

    Grief & past hurt

Loss that doesn't fit the timeline people expect, and older wounds that keep resurfacing. We go gently, at a pace that feels safe, and never faster.

    Individual · weekly

  • Clearing

“Things are better — I want to keep it that way.”

    Check-ins & maintenance

Monthly sessions for people who've done the work and want somewhere to keep thinking out loud before small clouds become weather.

    Individual · monthly

Starting is the hard part. The rest can be gentle.

No referral, no waiting list, no forms before we’ve even spoken. Here’s how the first few weeks usually go.

  1. 1

    A free 15-minute call

Tell me a little about what's going on. I'll ask a few questions, you can ask me anything, and we'll see if it feels like a fit.

  2. 2

    Your first session

Fifty minutes to get the whole picture — what brought you here, what you've tried, and what you'd like to be different.

  3. 3

    Settle into a rhythm

Most people start weekly, then space sessions out as things steady. You set the pace, and we check in on it together.

What progress can feel like

Not a breakthrough. A better Tuesday.

Change in therapy rarely looks dramatic. It shows up in ordinary moments that used to be hard — here are a few people tend to notice first.

  • Sunday evenings stop feeling like a cliff edge.

The week ahead is still busy. It just isn't loud in your head at 9pm.

  • An argument stays an argument.

It ends in the kitchen instead of following you both to bed and into Tuesday.

  • You can name what you feel before it names you.

Tired, disappointed, overstretched — words that turn a fog into something you can work with.

  • Rest feels like rest again.

A free afternoon that doesn't come with a list of what you should be doing instead.

Ready when you are.

Send a short note or call — a sentence or two about what’s going on is plenty. I’ll reply within one business day to set up a free 15-minute call, and there’s no obligation after it.
