What to bring to your first meeting
Don’t worry if something’s missing — we can request most of it for you. This is just what makes the first hour count.
- Last year’s tax return, federal and state
- W-2s, 1099s and any K-1s you’ve received
- Business bank and card statements for the year
- Mortgage interest, childcare and donation receipts
- Any letters you’ve had from the IRS or the state
Questions we hear every week
Anything else, ask us on the call — it’s free.
Do you only work with businesses?
No. About a third of our clients are individuals and families — often business owners who want one firm for both returns.
How do your fees work?
A fixed monthly fee, quoted in writing before we start. It covers everything we agreed, including your questions.
Can you catch up on years I haven't filed?
Yes, and it’s more common than you think. We’ll file what’s missing in order and talk to the IRS for you.
Do I need to come into the office?
Never, unless you’d like to. Most clients upload documents to a secure portal and meet us by video.
Which software do you use?
QuickBooks Online or Xero for the books, Gusto for payroll. If you’re on something else, we’ll tell you honestly whether to switch.
