Open a Messenger conversation from any page.

If your customers already message your Facebook Page, meet them there. This overlay opens a Messenger conversation with your Page from a button on every page, using Facebook's official m.me link rather than an embedded chat window.

A floating button that opens a Messenger conversation with your Facebook Page, without loading Facebook's chat plugin on your site.

Messenger, without the weight.

  1. Official link, no embed

    The button opens Facebook's m.me link to your Page, which starts a Messenger conversation in the app or on the web. Facebook's chat plugin is not loaded on your page.

  2. A prefilled first line

    Optionally set a reference so you can see the visitor came from your website and which page they were on.

  3. Folds into the all-in-one button

    When the Chat & Contact Button is on, Messenger becomes one of its channels rather than a second button.

  4. Styled and accessible

    Your branding decides the look; keyboard and screen readers get a real link with a real name.

How it will work.

  1. Enter your Page username On the Plugins page, paste the username from your Page's address and check it with the test link.
  2. Choose pages and position Every page or some, and which corner.
  3. Switch it on It appears on your dev site and your live domain immediately.

Good to know

  • Because nothing from Facebook loads on your page, the button needs no consent before it appears. Consent is Facebook's question once the visitor taps through.
  • A visitor must be signed in to Facebook to send a message. The button cannot change that.
  • An overlay applied as pages are served, it never edits your pages.

Why not embed Facebook's chat plugin?

The embedded plugin loads Facebook's script on every page, which slows the page and needs consent before it can appear. A link does neither.

Do I need a business Page?

Yes. Messenger links open conversations with Pages. A personal profile does not have a Page username.

Can I use this and WhatsApp together?

Yes. Switch on the Chat & Contact Button and both become channels behind one button.
