Before-and-after kitchens, plated dishes, finished haircuts. A gallery is how a visitor sees what you do. This section shows photos from your Media Library in a grid that opens each one full size, with captions, alt text and a lightbox that works for everyone.

A gallery of photos from your Media Library in a grid or masonry layout, with a lightbox, captions and alt text for every image.

Page section
Placed on a page by Max or in Edit mode, styled by your branding.

Choose the photos, or point the gallery at a Media Library folder so uploading to it adds to the gallery.

A gallery that loads fast and opens right.

  1. From your Media Library

    Pick photos, or choose a folder so every upload to it appears in the gallery. Images are resized for the grid and served in modern formats.

  2. A lightbox that behaves

    Opens as a real dialog, moves with the arrows, closes with Escape, returns focus to the thumbnail, and announces the caption and position.

  3. Grid, masonry or slider

    Equal tiles, a masonry layout that fits mixed shapes, or a slider, styled by your branding.

  4. Captions and alt text

    Each photo carries the alt text and caption from your Media Library, so the gallery is described, not just shown.

How it will work.

  1. Upload the photos Add them to your Media Library with alt text and captions. Max can write both from what it sees.
  2. Place the gallery Ask Max for a gallery on a page, pick the photos or the folder, and the layout.
  3. Publish On your dev site now and on your domain when you publish.

Good to know

  • Thumbnails are lazy-loaded and the full image loads only when its tile is opened, so a hundred photos do not slow the page.
  • Without JavaScript the grid still shows and each photo opens as a plain image.
  • A gallery can be filtered by tag when the folder's photos are tagged.

How many photos can a gallery hold?

As many as you like. Thumbnails load as the visitor scrolls, so a large gallery stays quick.

Can visitors download the originals?

Only if you switch that on. By default the lightbox shows a sized version and there is no download link.

Does it write alt text for me?

Max can suggest alt text and captions when you upload, and you can edit them. Every image in a gallery has to have alt text.
