Teachers
The people at the front of the room.
Four teachers, each with their own classes, so you always know who you will get and they always know what you worked on last week.
The team
Say hello before class.
Each of them teaches four to six classes a week. Stay after and ask anything — that is what the ten minutes after class are for.
-
Ama Mensah
Founder · Flow and prenatal
Opened Pose in 2016 after ten years teaching in gyms. Certified in prenatal yoga and still teaches the 7am class most weekdays.
-
Daniel Ortega
Strong Flow
A former climber who came to yoga for his shoulders. Teaches arm balances in small, honest steps.
-
Mei Chen
Slow & Yin
Trained in yin and restorative yoga in Taipei. Her classes are quiet, warm and very well propped.
-
Walter Brooks
Gentle Basics · Breath
Started yoga at sixty-one for his back. Now teaches the classes he wishes he had found first.
The studio
One room, twelve mats, no mirrors.
Pose opened in 2016 in a former sewing workshop with three tall windows facing east. We kept the classes small on purpose: a teacher can watch twelve people properly, and nobody gets lost at the back.
There are no mirrors, because yoga is about how a pose feels, not how it looks. There is good tea, a shelf of well-worn props, and a front desk that remembers what you came for last week.

I came for my back and stayed for Walter's Tuesday breath class. Three years in, it's the hour of my week I protect.
Twelve people, no mirrors, and a teacher who knows your name by the second class.
Ama's prenatal class got me through two pregnancies. I still use the breathing.
