This farmhouse sits on open ground west of town, where every spring storm hits it first. The owners had replaced their shingles three times in fifteen years.
What we built
- Full tear-off and new synthetic underlayment over the whole deck
- 24-gauge standing-seam steel in dark bronze, with concealed fasteners
- A snow-and-hail guard line over the porch entry
How it went
Metal takes longer than shingles: three days, including a day of on-site panel forming. The porch stayed usable the whole time.
The roof carries a Class 4 hail rating and a fifty-year manufacturer warranty.
