  1. A banner with no third-party code

    A small notice at the bottom of every page asks visitors to accept or decline, and remembers each choice in their own browser so they are only asked once.

  2. A privacy policy written for you

    The first time you switch the banner on, a plain-language policy is written with your business name and address, mentioning analytics only if you have connected some.

  3. Edit it like any page

    The policy is your own HTML: headings, paragraphs, lists, emphasis, and links. Restore the suggested policy any time an edit goes wrong.

  4. It gates analytics, nothing else

    Analytics scripts are added inert until a visitor accepts. Your pages, images, and forms work identically whether a visitor accepts or declines.

How to connect it.

  1. Switch the banner on Open Plugins from your website's page on the dashboard and turn on the cookie banner. The privacy policy page goes live at /privacy-policy at the same time.
  2. Read the policy it wrote It is a starting point, not legal advice. Edit anything that does not describe what your business actually does.
  3. Done, on both addresses The banner and the policy are added as pages are served, so there is nothing to republish. Switch off any time; your edits are kept.

Good to know

  • Turning the banner off hides the banner and the policy page together. Your policy text is kept.
  • Google Tag Manager's no-JavaScript fallback is skipped while the banner is on.
  • Scripts, embedded frames, forms, and styling are stripped from the policy when you save. It is a page visitors read.

What does the banner actually block?

It controls Analytics, Marketing, and Functional services separately. Optional scripts and embeds stay inert until a visitor allows their category or loads one named provider directly. Essential website features keep working.

Do I need the banner at all?

Which choice is correct depends on where your visitors are. The banner exists because for a lot of businesses it is not optional; switch it off and analytics runs for everyone.
