Connected section Planned

Where you are, on a map that loads when it is asked to.

Every local business page needs a map. This section shows yours from the address in your business details, with a directions link, and it loads Google's map only when consent allows or the visitor taps, so the page is fast and the banner is honest.

Google Maps

Planned

A map of your location with directions, from your business address, that loads Google only after the visitor consents or taps.

Connected section
Placed on a page and fed by an official source, cached and refreshed.

Your address is already in your business details. The section uses it, and Google's map loads only after consent or a tap.

A map that respects the page.

  1. From your business details

The pin, the address text and the directions link all come from the address you already gave Max. Change it once and every map follows.

  2. Loads on consent or tap

A static preview shows first. Google's interactive map loads when the visitor has accepted the relevant cookies or taps "Show map", which keeps the page fast and the cookie banner truthful.

  3. Directions in one tap

A "Get directions" link opens the visitor's own maps app with your address filled in, which works even if the map itself never loads.

  4. Styled by your branding

A map style in your palette, a card with the address in your type, and a size that fits a contact page or a footer.

How it will work.

  1. Confirm your address On the Plugins page the map starts with the address in your business details. Adjust the pin if the entrance is around the corner.
  2. Choose the layout Map only, or map with an address card. Max can place it on the contact page or anywhere you ask.
  3. Save It is on your dev site now and on your domain when you publish the page.

Good to know

  • The address is always shown as text beside the map, so the location is available to everyone, map or no map.
  • Google's map is an embedded service and is covered by your cookie banner. The plugin wires that up for you.
  • For several locations, the Store Locator plugin builds on this one.

Practical answers before you plan on it.

Read every answer
Do I need a Google Maps API key?

No. The platform provides the map through its own connection. There is nothing to create or paste.

Why does the map not show until I click?

Loading Google's map sets cookies, so it waits for consent or a tap. The static preview, address and directions link are there from the start.

Can I show more than one location?

One pin per map. Several locations with a search are what the Store Locator plugin is for.

Put yourself on the map, properly.
