Page section Planned

Several locations, and the nearest one first.

When you have more than one branch, a single map is not enough. This section keeps each location as a row, shows them on one map and in a list, and lets a visitor type a town or postcode to find the nearest, with each branch's hours and phone beside it.

Planned

Locations as content rows with a map, a search by town or postcode, and each location's address, hours and phone.

Page section
Placed on a page by Max or in Edit mode, styled by your branding.

Each branch is a row in your Content place. The map, list and search all read from those rows.

On the roadmap. This page describes how it will work when it ships.

Every branch, findable.

  1. Rows, not code

Each location is a row with its address, phone, hours and a note such as "parking at the rear". Add a branch and it appears on the map and in the list.

  2. Search by place

A visitor types a town or postcode and the list reorders by distance with the distance shown. The list works with no map at all.

  3. A map that waits

The map loads on consent or tap like the Google Maps plugin. The list and the directions links are there from the start.

  4. A page per location

Optionally give each branch its own page with its own address for search, carrying local business structured data.

How it will work.

  1. Add your locations Open the Content place, choose Locations, and add each branch.
  2. Place the locator Ask Max for a locations page with the map and search, or a compact list in the footer.
  3. Publish On your dev site now and on your domain when you publish.

Good to know

  • The list is the primary interface and the map is an addition, so it works for everyone, with or without the map.
  • Distances are worked out from the address the visitor typed, which is not stored.
  • Each branch can have its own hours, and "Open now" is shown per branch.

Practical answers before you plan on it.

Read every answer
How many locations can I add?

As many as you have. Businesses with a handful of branches are the typical case, and the search makes larger lists usable.

Does it use the visitor's location?

Only if they tap "Use my location" and allow it. Otherwise they type a town or postcode. Nothing is stored either way.

Can each location have its own page?

Yes, with one switch. Each gets a page with its details and local business structured data.
