If you sell alcohol, tobacco, cannabis or anything else with an age requirement, your website has to ask. This overlay shows a gate before any page, remembers the answer, and sends anyone who cannot confirm somewhere else.

A site-wide gate that asks visitors to confirm their age before entering, for breweries, wineries, dispensaries and anyone who has to ask.

Choose a yes/no confirmation or a date-of-birth entry, the minimum age, and where a "no" goes. The wording is yours to edit.

A gate that is firm and fair.

  1. Before anything else

    The gate is shown before a page's content and the page behind it is inert, so nothing can be read, tabbed to or scraped around it.

  2. Confirm or enter a date

    A simple "I am over 21" confirmation, or a date-of-birth entry for stricter requirements. Both are fully keyboard-operable and announced as a dialog.

  3. Remembers the answer

    A yes is remembered on that device for the period you set. A no goes to the page you choose and is not asked again on that visit.

  4. Your words, your look

    Edit the title, the text and the buttons, and it takes your branding so it looks like your website, not a warning label.

How it will work.

  1. Choose the rule Confirmation or date of birth, the minimum age, and how long to remember a yes.
  2. Write the words The question, the buttons, and an optional line about your policy. Set where a "no" is sent.
  3. Switch it on It gates every page of your dev site and your live domain immediately.

Good to know

  • The gate is shown before content and blocks the page behind it, so it works as a gate rather than as a banner.
  • The answer is remembered on the visitor's device only. Nothing about their age is sent to or stored by the platform.
  • Search engines are allowed through so your pages still index. A gate is for people, and the law is about people.

Read every answer
Is this enough to comply with the law?

Requirements differ by place and product, and a website gate is usually one part of them. The plugin gives you a proper gate; whether it is sufficient for your business is a question for your regulator.

Will it hurt my search ranking?

Search engine crawlers are let through so your pages index normally. Visitors from search still see the gate.

Can I exclude some pages?

Yes. A contact page or a jobs page can be left open while the rest of the site is gated.
