Site-wide overlay Planned

One message, shown once, to the right visitor.

A popup is the fastest way to say one thing to everyone: a seasonal offer, a change of hours, a newsletter. Done badly it is the fastest way to lose them. This overlay shows once, waits until the visitor has settled, and closes the way a visitor expects.

Popup

Planned

A site-wide popup for an offer, an announcement or a sign-up, with rules for when it shows and a memory of who has already seen it.

Site-wide overlay
Applied as your pages are served, on every page, with no republish.

Write it in the dashboard or ask Max. It can carry one of your forms, so a newsletter sign-up lands in your inbox like any other submission.

A popup people do not hate.

  1. Shows once, remembers

Choose a delay, a scroll depth, or exit intent on desktop. Once a visitor closes it, it stays closed for the number of days you set.

  2. Carries a form

Drop any of your forms into it, so a discount code sign-up or a booking request is a real submission with the same protection as every other form.

  3. A real dialog

Focus moves into it and back out, Escape closes it, the page behind is inert while it is open, and it is announced as a dialog with a name.

  4. Scheduled and targeted

Start and end dates, and a choice of every page or only the pages you name. Never on the pages where it would be in the way.

How it will work.

  1. Write it Title, text, a button that links somewhere or a form that collects something. Max can draft it from a sentence.
  2. Set the rules When to show, on which pages, how long to remember a close, and the dates it runs.
  3. Switch it on It appears on your dev site and your live domain immediately, and disappears the moment you switch it off or the end date passes.

Good to know

  • One popup at a time per website. The plugin is for one message, not a queue of them.
  • It never shows over the cookie banner. Consent comes first, then the popup on a later page view.
  • Reduced motion is respected: no slide, no bounce, just a dialog that is there.

Practical answers before you plan on it.

Will it hurt my search ranking?

Google penalises popups that cover the content on arrival from search, on mobile especially. The delay and scroll rules exist so yours does not, and the plugin will not show a full-screen popup on arrival on mobile.

Can it collect email addresses?

Yes, through one of your forms. Submissions go to your forms inbox and can be downloaded, like any other form.

How do I stop it showing me every time I test?

The dev site remembers a close the same way the live site does. The Plugins page has a preview that ignores that memory.
