A countdown gives a date weight. This section counts down to the moment you set, in the visitor's own time zone or in yours, and when it arrives it can change its message, hide itself, or send the visitor somewhere.

A countdown to a date and time you set, for a launch, a sale or an event, that knows what to do when it reaches zero.

A timer that finishes well.

  1. A fixed moment

    Counts to a specific date and time in the time zone you pick, and shows the visitor the same moment in theirs, so nobody arrives an hour late.

  2. Knows what to do at zero

    Swap to a message you wrote, hide the section, or redirect to a page. A sale that has ended never keeps counting into negative numbers.

  3. Readable, not just animated

    The remaining time is real text with labelled units, updated without being read out every second, and it holds still for anyone who prefers reduced motion.

  4. Styled by your branding

    Digits in your display type, colours from your palette, and a layout that fits a hero, a banner or a sidebar.

How it will work.

  1. Set the moment Date, time and time zone, plus a title such as "Doors open in".
  2. Decide the ending A message, a hide, or a redirect when it reaches zero.
  3. Place it Ask Max to add the countdown to a page and pick the layout.

Good to know

  • The count is worked out from the visitor's clock against the moment you set, so it stays right without asking the server every second.
  • Screen readers hear the remaining time when the section is reached and every few minutes after, not every tick.
  • An evergreen timer, one that restarts for every visitor to create urgency, is deliberately not included.

What happens when it hits zero?

Whatever you chose: it shows the message you wrote, hides itself, or sends the visitor to a page. It never shows a negative time.

Can I run a timer that resets for each visitor?

No. That style of timer is a pressure trick rather than a countdown to anything real, and it is not included.

Does it work in the visitor's time zone?

Yes. You set the moment in your time zone and each visitor sees the correct time remaining in theirs.
